Where are the tickets?

Every year for the past three or four years a friend of the family has given us tickets to the local dog show. This year the tickets went missing...of course after Little A had already anticipated going. In a moment of quick thinking my husband announced that we would have a Dog Show at our house. Little A was excited and we set of creating the required parts. My husband set up the arena (play silk floor, tee pee "dog house" and gathered all the "dogs" - we use this term lightly since the Best In Show collar went to a stuffed Giraffe named SunBurn).

Little A and I went into the craft room and made some tickets for those in attendance, a banner to welcome the crowd and then we worked up a silver and gold collar for the first and second place winners.

We each took turns displaying our animals, telling where they came from as well as their favorite things to eat. Little A showed a very lovely spotted dog that hailed from Ireland and liked to eat meatballs. The votes were tallied and SunBurn the giraffe took Best of Show and received a gold collar. Flying Squirrel now sports a silver collar around his neck.

Disaster Averted!
